Server Hosting
The easiest kind of server hosting to imagine is Web hosting
services. Many consumers have Web pages for personal use. However, when
a third-party types in the Web address, that person does not access
the Webpage from the consumer's computer. Instead, the Webpage is served
from a site like AOL or Go Daddy.com.
Hosting services are offered to consumers for free sometimes. In exchange
for serving up Web pages the host places ads on the Webpage. They receive
money for this from the advertiser.
Some consumers or small businesses do not want advertising on their
Webpage. In this case they must pay for server hosting. The larger the
business is the more Web hits it will receive in the larger it must
pay to outsource its Web operations.
